Book a Consultation with Valerie

Val Profile (1)Are you frustrated with your local school district and dissatisfied with the outcome of your IEP meetings? Do you feel that you are not being respected by your IEP team and find it difficult to verbalize what you want for your child? Are you at a loss in knowing how to navigate the bureaucracy of the district’s “double talk” used to delay and deny your child the services they require?

If you have answered yes to these questions, you may want to consider scheduling a consultation with Valerie Aprahamian.

A consultation consists of an individualized education assessment of your child’s special education program. A consult is based upon your child’s last 3-4 IEP documents and most recent assessments in all areas that are related to your child’s disability. Please bring these documents with you to the consult meeting.

From these documents, Valerie will advise you on the gaps in services and evaluate your child’s annual goals, present levels of performance, and accommodations and/or modifications. Valerie will listen to your concerns and advise you of your parental rights under IDEA. She will explain to you in layman’s terms how to navigate through the IEP process to obtain the support and services your child requires to receive educational benefit and to progress in their special education program.

A $50 deposit is required prior to scheduling and confirming your consult time. This fee is paid through PayPal. If you need to reschedule, this must be done 48 hours in advance. If you do not show up for your consult, the $50 deposit is non-refundable.

Valerie asks that you please make arrangements for childcare during your consultation meeting.  She believes that it is much easier for parents to remain focused and maximize their time during the consultation without any distractions.

If you desire to retain Valerie Aprahamian to represent you as your advocate during IEP meetings and are a resident in the Corona-Norco Unified School District, Valerie will review the “Client Fee Schedule” and discuss the additional advocacy services available through Advocates For Angels.
